Source of Wealth: Questions and acceptable documents

1. Savings from employment/income

Please send us one of the following:

• A copy of a payslip dated within the last three months.
• A letter from your employer confirming your annual salary.
• Copies of your last two years accounts (if you’re self-employed).

2. Investments

Please send us one of the following:

• Copy of statement.
• Letter from the product provider confirming the proceeds paid.
• Copy of a bank statement showing receipt of funds and policy in the provider’s name.

3. Property Sale

Please send us one of the following:

• A signed letter from the solicitor confirming the address, date of sale, sale price and equity released.
• A copy of a bank statement showing the receipt of funds.

4. Company Sale or sale of interest in a company

Please send us:

• A signed letter from the solicitor, or regulated accountant, dealing with the company sale confirming their name, address and details of the company sold, date of the sale, and details of the funds the applicant received.

5. Company profits

Please send us:

• A copy of latest audited company accounts.

6. Share sale

Please send one of the following:

• A copy of the contract notes. They must show the sale proceeds.
• A certified copy of a bank statement showing receipt of funds and the investment company’s name.
• A signed letter providing details of the funds from a regulated accountant.

7. Loan

Please send us both of the following:

• A letter from the loan provider confirming the amount of loan and the recipient.
• Copy of a bank statement showing receipt of funds and lenders name in the transaction.

8. Gift

Please send us:

• Documentary evidence of the donor’s source of wealth based on the source of wealth and a bank statement confirming the amount of gift and purpose.

9. Inheritance

Please send us one of the following:

• A copy of the Grant of Probate (with a copy of the will). This must include the value of the estate.
• A signed letter from the solicitor detailing the name of the deceased, date of death, relation to the deceased, date the inheritance was received, total amount of inheritance received.

10. Competition or gambling win

Please send us:

• Evidence of winnings either in the form of confirmation from the competition organiser and/or evidence of receipt of winnings into your bank account.
